Political situation of the country does not permit to implement amnesty as many processes need to be made before the Government implements such a policy, MP Mario Viegas Carrascalao from Social Democratic Party (PSD) said.
This policy is good to build good relationship with neighboring country, but it is not educating people, he said.
He said any one who was suspected of being engaged in acts of crime should be sentenced; otherwise they would continue committing the same action in the future as this was the Timorese people's character.
"Amnesty to give someone immunity is not good. It is not good in the process of nation building," he said.
