Francisco da Costa from Bobonaro District, said those people who have the right to receive the pension of veterans are those who sacrificed themselves and were involved in war during the Indonesian occupation time for liberating this country.

Da Costa made the statements, because it is believed that there was a name of a “HANSIP” Civil security official during the Indonesian time, and this man has died, but his name is also included on the list of names of veterans who, along with their families, are eligible to receive pension money.

Da Costa added that they will report this case officially to the homage committee in order to identify those people who have included a militia name to receive a pension for veterans and this case should be taken to the court.

“We will make a report to the Commission for Veterans to resolve this case, because based on what reason should the militia also receive pension? But, the document process of those veterans who sacrificed themselves is never finished,” da Costa said.
