Dili, Timornewsline, - Director for Luta Hamutuk (LH) NGO, Mericio Akara has called on the Timorese Government to invest in the country’s human capital and infrastructure development.

“Luta Hamutuk appreciates and agrees with Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao’s plan to invest money for human capital and infrastructure. We LH agree with such policies and it should be implemented directly, so that our people can see what the implementation will look like,” Akara said.

Speaking to Timor newsline, Akara stressed that LH wants to discuss with the Government how to implement this plan and define which minister will implement it.

Akara made the comments after participating in a one-day seminar which was held at Sao Paulo II Conference Room.

Akara affirmed that this meeting was aimed at understanding the level of participation of the country’s people in the plan. Akara also said LH is still confused with the implementation of the Prime Minister’s plan; therefore the objective aim of the conference was to involve people from the rural areas in the plan.

“We are concerned about the planning due to the Government mandate s close to its end, therefore in December of this year, all the parties will be focused on their campaigna, so LH urges the government to implement the plan this month, due to the fact that if they implement it now, the impacts of the election campaign will be lessened.” said Akara.Josmel
