Deputy Timorese Police, Commissioner Afonso de Jesus, said there were a total of 16 guns missing. Four HK-33’s and 12 pistols went missing during the crisis, but they are not a threat to stability in the country.
De Jesus stated, that the guns and pistols have not been found yet but they do not have any ammunition in them.
“If they only have the gun, but they have no bullets, then they will do nothing with them. But, if the guns have bullets in them, all people will be concerned about it,” de Jesus said.
He also called on the residents to cooperate and inform the police to re-collect the guns and pistols if they find anyone carrying them.
