President Jose Ramos Horta said he is pessimistic about a report made by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) saying Timor-Leste will face poverty in the next 30 years if only depends on petroleum fund.
“I do not believe this report, as it was made by simple human beings,” Horta said.
Horta explained that only the Pope and the Bible are correct and transparent, therefore there are big differences between the UNDP and the Government’s report.
Horta called on the Government to accumulate this report and said they should discuss it, as the Government knows that the country’s economic growth is increasing 8%, while the UNDP’s report shows only 3%.
Horta added that he will consult with the Government about the report, because it could impact the country’s development.
