Francisco Branco from Fretilin, said the Government, particularly the State Secretary for Natural Resources has no seriousness to negotiate the LNG pipeline from the Greater Sun Rise oil and Gas field in the Timor Sea.

“It seems like the Government has no seriousness to deal with the negotiation process, because it is unknown to us what their agenda is to carry onward.

How many times have they held meetings? It is important to publish their agenda,” MP Branco sid.

President Horta said he trusted Mari Alkatiri to hold negotiations about the LNG pipeline from the Greater Sun Rise.

“Mari Alkatiri is capable of negotiating the LNG pipeline from the Greater Sun Rise. Timor-Leste should show unity in this case,” President Horta said.

President Horta added that he did not want any foreigners to negotiate the LNG pipeline for Timor-Leste, adding that Alkatiri and the State Secretary for Natural Resources Alfredo Pires, will be able to hold negotiations about LNG because they have the skills to do so.
