MP's from the Parliamentary Majority Alliance (AMP), have called on the competent institutions, particularly the Appellate Court, to investigate Prosecutor General Ana Pessoa Pinto, because the of the accusation of the Public Prosecution against Deputy Prime Minister Jose Luis Guterres is political.

The MP's of AMP urge the Appellate Court to investigate Prosecutor General Ana Pessoa as her decision to accuse Guterres is abuse of power, adding that the former Finance Minister, Madalena Boavida and former Deputy of Foreign Affairs Minister Adalgiza Magno signed the contract for Guterres' spouse, but unfortunately the Prosecutor General did not include their names in the accusation.

Parliamentary President, Fernando "Lasama" de Araujo, said the demands of the MPs from AMP were based on the reality of what happened when Fretilin was in power.

"The MP's demands reflect reality, because the main actors have not been included in the accusation letter. Guterres is the third person, and it does not mean that the MP's condemn them, but it is important for the Appellate Court to look at this case, because the public needs to know the truth of the case," Lasama said.

MP Aniceto Guterres from Fretilin said that the demands of MP's from AMP were baseless and lawless.
