Vulcão do Monte Karangetang entra em erupção

.

*Justice Minister discusses international judicial cooperation with Committee B
*Radio Timor-Leste, March 11, 2011 language source: Tetun

Minister for Justice, Lucia Lobato has met with Parliamentary Committee B President Duarte Nunes to discuss a project law for international judicial cooperation. Lobato affirmed that this project is very important and is about extraditions and other issues in relation to various acts of crime, such as money laundering. "This project law is important to regulate many things, including extradition and other issues in relation to crime," Lobato said. Lobato stressed that cooperation between her ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation is necessary to discuss the referred law.The Committee B President Nunes said this law could legally process any foreign nationals who commit crimes in the country and it could also process Timorese who commit crimes in other countries."

I'm very glad that the Minister is proposing a law that would allow the country to extradite money launders and possible criminals related to other types of crime such as paedophilia, women smugglers, and most importantly criminals that perpetrated against civilians in 1999. The questions is will the Minister have the gut to request the extradition of Maternus Bere and others? Moreover, if there is an investigation was to carried out and found that some of her colleagues, I mean other Ministers, past or present have laundered money and put in foreign bank accounts, will she and the PM have the courage to put them on trial? Seeing is believing! There is no point to have a low which ministers have the liberty to flaunt!
