MP Rui Menezes from the Democratic Party (PD) said the President of the PSD, Zacarias Albano da Costa, the current Foreign Affairs Minister, has no proper plan to allocate the general state budget but he [Minister da Costa] urged the Parliament to allocate a huge amount of money to his ministry.
"People said the government automatically has no planning, it means that the PSD bench is being clandestine," Rui Said.
MP Menezes added that the Council of Ministries approved the general state budget before presenting it in the Parliament to be debated; therefore there is no reason for the PSD bench to urge the Parliament to allocate more money to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
"We MPs have a competence to approve the budget, but we are not dull in the Parliament," MP Menezes said.
MP Natalino dos Santos from the National Congress for the Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) said that this is not the first problem for the foreign ministry.
"I want to stress that the Parliamentary Committee B for Foreign Isssues, Defense and Security has the power to propose large amounts of money to facilitate all the Timorese Embassies overseas," MP dos Santos said. Josmel
