The Parliamentary Committee D for Agriculture, Fishery, Forestry, Natural Resources and Environment President, Brigida Correia has urged the Government to increase funds for purchasing rice.
MP Correia made the statements yesterday in the Parliament saying that the Government should increase number of the fund for purchasing rice in order to anticipate famine in the future.
We also called on the Government, particularly the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry (MTCI) to allocate money to anticipate famine," MP Correia said.

Correia said the Government had proposed Money US$ 3 million in the general state budget 2011 for purchasing rice, adding that the Government would increase the total amount as many MPs were concerned about possible famine in the country.
