MP Adriano do Nascimento from the Democratic Party (PD) has called on the Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao to reduce numbers of advisor in the Ministry of Finance, as the advisor within the referred ministry were approximately 70 comparing with other Ministries.
MP Nascimento made the comments regarding PM Gusmao’s recent comments saying Timor-Leste should not become state which was full of advisors. “If Prime Minister Gusmao makes such statement then I am calling on him to reduce advisor within the Ministry of Finance immediately to reduce money expenditure,” MP Nascimento said.
MP Aniceto Guterres said there were many international advisors in the country, due to they were friends of the ministers and were called by the ministers coming to work in the country. “We should to have self-confidence that Timor-Leste becomes independent country because we have capability.
We have to make efforts to be independent in implementing the programs,” MP Guterres said.
