The Parliamentary Committee B for Defense and Security Member, MP Augusto “Tara de Araujo said there were many illegal weapons still at large within the community. “There much information saying that there are 11 illegal weapons still at large in the community,” MP Tara said.
Tara added that the illegal weapons wide spread in Ermera District have recalled and therefore he called on the institutions of which weapons are not complete yet to recall those 11 weapons.
Timorese National Police (PNTL) Department for Criminal Investigation Commander, Superintendent Chief, Jose Soares rejected the recent rumors mongering saying they recalled a pistol during operations to the bars in the capital of Dili was falsehood. “This information is untrue because there is no evidence,” Superintendent Chief Soares said.
