Govt authorizes EGS joint venture to start feasibility study on the Timor Sea

The Council of Ministers has decided and authorized the international company Toke EGS joint to start holding feasibility study on the Timor Sea before setting up plant of LNG in Beasu , Viqueque district.

State Secretary for the Council of Ministry, Hemenegildo Pereira said the company which won the tender was EGS and therefore the Government had decided and allowed them to start feasibility study.

“The Government has made decision in the meeting of the Council of Ministers which held on November 10 to hold maritime investigation for LNG plant of Timor-Leste in Beasu to set up logistic base that will help facilitate oil exploration in the southern coast and therefore the council of Ministers allows the EGS joint venture to do the study,” Pereira said.

MP Adriano do Nascimento from the Democratic Party (PD) said it was important to the Government to seek for a company which has good experience and capability to hold visibility study to support implementing the Government’s plan.
