A young East Timorese man was taken to hospital after his motor scooter crashed into the back of a military truck in the capital Dili, the Defence department says.
The department did not specify whether an Australian army truck was involved, only that it was an International Stabilisation Force vehicle.
Some 400 Australian defence personnel are based in Dili.

In the latest accident, which occurred a week ago, the injured man remained conscious and was assisted by the truck's driver. He was taken to hospital and treated for cuts and abrasions.
UN and East Timorese police have investigated this accident.
Defence has established contact with the man in ongoing tracking of the incident.
"Driving conditions in Dili can be unpredictable and erratic," it said in a statement.
"The driver of the ISF vehicle was adhering to the ISF driving rules and local driving laws and provided all appropriate support both to the East Timorese man and the local authorities."
