COURT HAS THE POWER TO INVESTIGATE CORRUPTORS

MP Arsenio Bano from Fretilin said the court had the absolute power to investigate corruption, engaging the Government's officials.

MP Bano called on all the Government officials to declare their wealth frankly as it is a good way of controlling corruption in the country.

"I am urging the Government to better control its officials and they should frankly declare their wealth to the court for example they haveto say source of their incomes.

Before they become minister, their carwas only one but after they become minister, numbers of there isincreasing to two or three.

Where did they get the money to purchase the cars?" MP Bano said. MP Bano stressed that the Government's officials should frankly declared their wealth to the court to facilitate the court for controlling the Government's officials in order to uncover indication of corruption appear within the Government's institutions.
