The National Unity (PUN) Party against the Government’s policy on loan, due to it will shake and threaten economy of Timor-Leste and other people will control the country’s economy.
MP Fernando Borges from the PUN Party made the comments regarding the MPs’ meeting with Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao on the Chinese Government’s policy of lending money to Timor-Leste.
“If China lends us money with the US currency, they will continue making maneuver in the market with the US dollar and that will threaten our economy,” Borges said.
Borges affirmed that the Chinese Government has many times provided Timor-Leste with numbers of subsidies, such as building construction for the Timorese state institutions, but what will the China get from the country.
