The State of Timor-Leste has decided to end the International Stabilization (ISF) deployment in the country in 2012, as security situation is currently normal.
The decision of halting the ISF’s deployment was made by three state bodies of the country, such as presidency, Government, Parliament and the ISF itself.
President of the Parliamentary Committee B for Defense and Security, Duarti Nunes said Timor-Leste was planning to downsize numbers of the ISF up to 2012.
“They will leave the country in 2012, now the ISF’s number is reduced in our country, as we remain calm now,” Nunes said.
