Minister for Justice, Lucia Lobato has pledged to present a report on the ex-rebel leader, Gastao Salsinha and his followers’ performance during their prison terms; it should be going through this way to help facilitate the court to free them as soon as possible.
Lobato made the comments regarding President Jose Ramos Horta’s decision of pardoning Salsinha and his men which had been publicized in the State gazette.
“Report on the prisoners performance has been made and will present shortly,” Lobato said.
Minister Lobato added that pardoning the prisoners was the competence of the president and that had been consulted with all parties in the country.
“It is the president is competence, as we know that the president consulted with all people before making decision, such as with the MPs and of course with the Government, as well as other important state bodies,” She said.
