The Democratic Party (PD) leader in the Parliament, Adriano Nacimentosaid the Government had to dignify the Timorese guerilla fighters who had fought for the country's independence.
MP Nacimento said the commemoration of the Timorese Liberation Army known as FALINTIL was very important to dignify the guerilla fightershad contributed to the country liberation.
"Our Democratic Party passes message to the public that the FALINTIL Dayis very important to the people's lives," Nacimento said.
MP Aderito Hugo da Costa from the National Congress of the Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) congratulated members of the FALINTIL that commemorated their 35th anniversary.
MP da Costa hoped that the FALINTIL which transformed itself to become the Timorese Defense Force (F-FDTL) to be able to provide the country's people with strong security.
