State Secretary for Defense, Julio Thomas Pinto said Baucau district would be used as base for the Timorese Defense Force (F-FDTL) air force base in future.
The state secretary affirm that Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao who is also minister for defense and security had convey this plan during consultation of the national development plan throughout the country.
Pinto also said human resources were a challenge being faced by the defense force, yet the Defense State Secretariat was trying to resolveit.
"We have a real plan to set up our air force or air support force,"Pinto said.
