Deputy Prime Minister for Public Administration and Good Governance, Mario Viegas Carrascalao said Timor-Leste was an independent country and it would not be a doll for Australia and other countries.
Carrascalao made the comments in relation to the Australian prime minister’s proposal of setting up refugee processing center in Timor-Leste.
Carrascalao said so far he had not read the official proposal from Australia, but once it had been in the ground, the Council of Ministers would discuss it first and said he would vote against the proposal.
“I disagree with this proposal and will firmly to vote against it in the Council of Ministers. But if its passes we would abide by it, but I do believe that many of the Government officials will not agree with this proposal,” Carrascalao said.

Mr.Deputy prime minister opinion's is absolutely correct....we as Timorese citizen appreciated you.You show our bravery that we are not depend on other country again.......I have one question for Australian government,you know that your country is bigger than our why you want send them to East Timor....??????....hahahahah.....Viva Timor Lste.....grande abraco ao Vice primeiro ministro......
