Prosecutor for the ex-militia commander, Maternus Bere’s release case has pledged to contact President Jose Ramos Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao to testify before overturning definitive accusation to Justice Minister, Lucia Lobato.
Minister for Justice, Lucia Lobato said the prosecutor would hear from some witnesses including the country’s General Prosecutor Ana Pessoa.
Lobato called on President Horta to respond to the Public Prosecution, as he was the one who made the decision to release Bere.
Minister Lobato is charged as the accused, following her engagement in releasing Bere on the bases of President Horta’s decision.
