MP Pedro Martires da Costa from the National Congress fro the Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) said the recent parliamentary statement had not intended to oppose the idea of the Timorese Government of disagreeing with the Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s of setting up refugee processing center in the country.
Da Costa was referring to the resolution produced by the Parliament to reject the Australian Government’s proposal.
Our decision will not oppose the recent statement of Prime Minsiter Xanana Gusmão, adding that our statement is mastery for negotiation,” da Costa said.
Meanwhile, President Jose Ramos Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão last week said that it was important to hold open discussion with all sides to share opinions about this issue.
