Director for HAK [human rights association], Rui Viana said the Timorese people had not optimally participated in the 2010 census of population; due to there was no optimal socialization by the Government.
Viana said before holding the census, the Government should hold socialization properly, so that all the country’s people could participate in it.
Viana stressed that when the people had understood objective of the census, so then they would take part.
He added that census had no relations with political issues and had no relations with who was now in power, but its result would help support the country’s development.
