President Jose Ramos Horta said as head of the country he was ready to collaborate with the Public Prosecution to testify in relation to the release of the ex-militia Commander, Maternus Bere.
“I will collaborate with the Public Prosecution, this is my competence as president to endorse judicial system in the country,” Horta said.
Horta stressed that he would not make any comments on the reason of releasing Bere, as Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao had commented during a vote for no confidence in the Parliament.
Horta also could not give any comments to his decision of asking Minister for Justice, Lucia Lobato to release Bere, as everything had been explained by PM Gusmao.
