Spokesperson for Commission of defending crises victims’ right, Meteus Freitas said the commission had recommended the Government to set up an independent commission to help investigate the officers who are suspected of being engaged in selling compensation receipt for victims illegally.
Freitas made the comments in relation to the Social Solidarity Ministry that had announced not to pay make payment to the false receipt.
Freitas stressed that the commission should be composed of civil society, UNMIT, religious institutions, Forum of NGO and HAK [human right association].
He added that no receipts were produced illegally or false, as they were produced by the officers of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
