The Finance and Planning Minister, Emilia Pires, has confirmed that the Government would allocate US$650 million to the Ministry of Infrastructure, particularly in the area of communication to control businessmen and to seek for another telecom company to invest in the country and to compete with the Timor Telecom.
Minister Pires said it was important for the Government to create a condition that would allow enterprisers to seek for another international telecom company that wanted to come and invest in the country.
“We make contract with the businessmen and allow another qualified telecomm company from another country that can bring benefit to the Timorese people, adding that they should have good communication with the TT in order to prevent a possible prejudicial in the future.
The TT is the current company which is managing communication in the country but it was too expensive comparing to the coast of telecommunication in Indonesia.
