The Timorese ex-guerilla fighters in the Parliament have set an ultimatum to the National Police commander to take a necessary action against the police officers who engaged in insulting MPs Cornelio “L-7” Gama and Faustino Renan Selak are also the ex-guerilla fighters.
The ex-guerilla fighters and the MPs made the ultimatum regarding a police officer insulted Renan Selak in Lautem saying that MP Renan Selak was “bandit”.
While, the Dili district Police commander Superintendent Chief Pedro Belo stated that time to respect contribution of the ex-guerilla fighters had passed.
MP Renan Selak called on the minister for defense and security to take necessary action against the police officers who had insulted the ex-guerilla fighters as they were dissatisfied with such insult.
“We call on the Minister for Defense and Security Xanana Gusmão to take a necessary action against the police who had insulted MP Gama and me,” Renan Selak said.
Meanwhile, the Dili District Police Commander, Superintendent Chief Pedro Belo said the PNTL would always respect the ex-guerilla fighters, but it was an obligation for the national Police to carry out its work based on the Timorese Constitution.
