I literally had no choice, to be able to get on with my life again. Safely, that is."

Angelita Pires explains to SBS Radio's Beatriz Wagner why she is going to sue the president of Timor-Leste, Jose Ramos-Horta, and many others in Timor-Leste, Australia and Portugal, for defamation.

She was accused by the president of being the mastermind of the attacks on his residence on 11th February 2008, but was found in court to be innocent.

She lists all her losses, including her partner Alfredo Reinado, killed in the attack, and their unborn baby, initially bleeding in a cell in Dili without medical assistance up to the final miscarriage, days later, at home.

Angelita Pires also talks of her plans to write her autobiography and to become a politician back in Dili, praising Fernanda Borges' party.

On the results of the attacks of 11th February, she says that "Reinado was a victim himself, also the police and the military. They were used as instruments for personal gain. Alfredo was just one of them and then disposed of when no longer needed. I truly believe this."

"To get to the bottom of 11th February we have to look at 2006 crisis... a political crisis to bring down a legitimate government, which happened to be Fretilin at the time. "
