PSD leaders urge PM Gusmão to dismiss Justice Minister Lobato

Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão, has confirmed that the former Social Democratic Party (PSD) Mario Viegas Carrascalão and the current President of PSD Zacarias Albano da Costa including his vice João Goncalves have met with him and asking to dismiss the current Justice Minister Lucia Lobato.

PM Gusmão said that those three PSD leaders have urged him to sack out Minister Lobato as it was believed that there was corruption, collusion and nepotism had appeared in her Ministry.

In response to their petition, PM Gusmão said that there was no evidence that can support him to dismiss Minister Lobato from her political post.

“I say no. investigation is going on and if the court release summon to the police detain Minister Lobato then I will dismiss her,” PM Gusmão said.

PM Gusmão added that President Jose Ramos Horta had also asked for him to quit the post assumed by Minister Lobato, but he said it impossible for him to do that as there was no evidences prove that Minister Lobato has engaged in crime.

PM Gusmão said that the demands of PSD leaders and President Horta will not be fulfilled as she had not engaged in any criminal act.
