State Secretary Alfredo Pires: “Pipeline will not be built in Australia”

The State Secretary for Natural Resources, Alfredo Pires, has said that Timor-Leste Government will not surprised with the recent threat of the Australian Government through its Foreign Affairs Minister and therefore the Government of Timor-Leste will firmly maintain its position to install pipeline in the country.

“The Timorese Government had decided that the pipeline of the Greater Sunrise will not be installed to Australia but it should be installed to Timor-Leste,” Pires said.

Pires said that the Woodside Company which is responsible for the oil exploration in the Greater Sunrise presented their plan of techniques but they had been expire.

Pires said that technically it was possible to install pipeline to the country and therefore the Timorese Government will maintain its position.
