President Jose Ramos Horta has threatened no to promulgate the 2011 general state budget and return it to the Parliament if the Government will not include road reparation in the rural areas.
“I emphasize that I will not just sign the 2011 general state budget with closing eyes,” President Horta said.
President Horta said that people had shriek many times for the Government to repair roads in rural areas because in reality that roads in rural areas was really in bad condition.
President Horta added that he will talk with Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão to include road reparation from Kribas to Laclubar in the additional state budget and he also called on the State Secretary for Public Work to pay attention in this case.
President Horta also said that the Government should not talk about development only but the important thing is the Government should implement its promise.
“I ask the Government to open its eyes to roads in bad condition and they should not talk only about development but road conditions in rural areas continue in bad condition,” President Horta said.
