MP Adriano Nascimento from the Democratic Party (PD) has called for the Deputy Prime Minister Mario Viegas Carrascalão to resign from his political post as Deputy PM for Management and Public Administration.
MP Nascimento made the calls following the Deputy PM Carrascalão has not put in practice his promise to combat corruption and maladministration emerge within the Government’s institutions.
“I concern with the attitude of Deputy PM Carrascalão, because the Parliamentary Majority Alliance (AMP) appointed him to be Deputy PM in order to combat indication of corruption and maladministration appeared at all the governmental levels,” Nascimento said.
MP Nascimento added that it was better for Deputy PM Carrascalão to quit his post rather than made comment but never implement it.
Meanwhile, MP Joaquim Amaral from Fretilin also said that Deputy PM Carrascalão should not made comment only but he should make efforts to search for information about indication of corruption case within the Government’s institutions.
